Amazing gelato! On our first visit we tried the Stracciatella and Gianduia and a crunchy peanut and salted pistachio. So good we came back two more during our short stay in Rome! And at €3 for two scoops it's an absolute must!

Fantastic gelato! Lemon ice has pieces of lemon in it and isn’t sweet, unlike more touristy places. It was so refreshing and paired perfectly with the dark chocolate. The alphonso mango was also good. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of ingredients and the size of the scoop. They even had gluten free cones! We look forward to future flavor combinations.

The coconut with dark chocolate pieces and the pistachio with nuts were amazing. Not overly sugary, just great flavor!

This gelato will earn your desire to come here every single day. The artisanal gelato is one of a kind. The best pistacchio gelato I’ve ever eaten in over 24 years of loving the Italian dessert. The care and dedication to the craft is evident in every bite. The cost is on the lower end of the spectrum across Trastevere and most definitely the city center. This makes for a perfect storm for destroying your diet. In two weeks there has only been one day where we did not get gelato from Otaleg. It’s a “must try” while in Rome and a “no brainer” if you’re choosing from places in Trastevere. Buonissima!

Very delicious gelato! Flavours are all unique and amazing! Tried the apple and pear sorbet with tangerine peel and nuts. It blew my mind away. Never had anything like that before. So light and tasty! The tangerine peels adds a unique taste to it. Tried the pistachio one as well! So creamy and delicious! Highly recommend ! Would love to come back again to try the other flavours!

Best little spot! Smooth texture and fresh everyday. The coffee/espresso is strong compared to what we have in the US (but wonderful!) and mixes well with the coconut. An absolute must if you visit Trastevere!

Nestled at Via di S. Cosimato, 14a, this charming gelateria offers a refreshingly genuine experience that combines tradition with creative twists.

Otaleg’s menu reads like a celebration of classic and innovative gelato tastes. Among the highlights, the Pistachio Ice Cream emerges as a masterpiece—creamy, nutty, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. Equally impressive is their Chocolate Peanut Butter, which melds rich cocoa with a smooth yet crunchy texture that lingers on the palate. The Tiramisu Gelato pays homage to Italy’s beloved dessert, delivering a luscious, coffee-infused scoop that feels indulgent but never heavy.

What truly captivates are unique offerings like Spagetti Carbonara—an inventive nod to Roman cuisine—and Fico & Pistacchio Semi Salato Fantastici, which surprise and delight with their layered flavors. The Gelato Di Mora (blackberry gelato) and Helado Diminuto showcase fresh, intense fruit profiles that awaken the senses without overwhelming sweetness. For those mindful of dietary needs, the availability of gluten-free cones ensures everyone can savor the experience.

Whether you lean toward the salty notes of Pistacchio E Gorgonzola or the refreshing zest of lemon infused with real fruit pieces, each bite speaks volumes about Otaleg’s dedication to depth and flavor purity.

As a food reviewer, I find Otaleg’s approach both inspiring and comforting. It balances the genuine essence of traditional Italian gelato with daring, original blends that enhance the cultural tapestry of Rome’s culinary scene. This gelateria is not just a stop for sweet relief—it’s a destination where passion and flavor converge, making every visit memorable.
